Car maintenance is a common DIY activity. But even if you are like me, and prefer to leave it to the professionals, there is a certain amount of car related knowledge to helps to keep your car running smoothly and your trips completed safely. The basic car maintenance tasks include: Water Levels - radiator, windscreen and battery Tyre Pressure - adjusting tyre pressure for season and additional loads such as towing caravans and heavy trailors Tyre Tread - no grip means poor cornering and dangerous braking Fluid Levels - brake fluid and autotransmission fluid Belts - timing chains, alternator belts and cooling fan belts should all be checked for correct tautness.
